Creating engaging connected learning experiences through Global Citizenship Education, Collaborative Digital Storytelling and Creative Computing
GlobalChangemakers is an initiative resulting from the Erasmus+ European project InventEUrs. It is a free platform for teachers from schools around the world that allows them to easily connect their classes and promote collaborative projects. The platform is designed to promote creativity, empathy and global awareness through online collaborative challenges where children, grouped in mixed virtual teams (with members from different countries) have to research a topic, discuss it on a blog, hold videoconferences, learn to code and co-create a digital story on the topic they have explored, which will be finally uploaded to the Internet.
The entire collaborative process lasts 15 weeks, during which the participating classes go through different stages, from the initial presentation of the teams to the co-creation of the digital stories with Scratch. The process is guided and there are materials and resources along the way. Watch the video to learn the different phases.
